          The river runs hundreds of kilometres from the Torne Lake in northern Sweden to the far end of the Bay of Bothnia. The area of Original Lapland is vast and the distances may be long, however, the road network and connections cover the area well and getting from place to place is no problem.

  • Aavasaksanvaara is a magnificent classic in the municipality of Ylitornio.
  • Eeron polku (Eero’s path) is a nature path with amazing views, named after a legendary skier from Pello.
  • Jupukka is located in the municipality of Pajala. On top of the Jupukka hill you can visit one of the Unesco’s world heritage sites, Struve geodetic Arc, and see some unique fauna.
  • Pieskänjupukka offers a stunning view of Lake Miekojärvi on the Arctic Circle.
  • Luppioberg in Övertorneå, Sweden, offers magificent views on Torne Valley. On top of the hill, you can enjoy not only the scenery but also accommodation and restaurant services.
  • Haukkavaara in the municipality of Ylitornio offers stunning forest and lake views on both sides of the hill. A marked route to the Haukkavaara lean-to starts from the Alposlahdentie road.
