Our Lapland is also Your Lapland

“When you understand what Our Lapland is like, you won’t want to leave.”

Our calendar is the Torne River
When does the ice break? Is it already flooding? Is the salmon coming? Is the river already frozen?

          Our clock is the sun
During the polar night the sun is barely rises, so why not stay in and take it easy. In summer there is light, night and day. So much time and so many nice things to do! Still, let’s take it easy. Have a seat, we’ll have a coffee and a chat.

Take a moment to feel the rhythm of light and nature.

          Come along!

The river runs hundreds of kilometres from the Torne Lake in northern Sweden to the far end of the Bay of Bothnia. The area of Original Lapland is vast and the distances may be long, however, the road network and connections cover the area well and getting from place to place is no problem.

Take a little wander on a nature trail

To the trail!

In Our Lapland nature trails are literally everywhere. Step into nature and breathe in the clean air. Would you prefer to explore the forest or steep hills, or perhaps let your eyes rest over calming marshland?

Jaipaljukka Nature Trail
(Pello, FIN)

The large rock formation of Jaipaljukka was formed at the end of the ice age as the ice was melting and the tectonic plates were moving. A guided nature trail of about 4 kilometres is perfect for a short day hike. The trail begins in Pello some 12 km towards Rovaniemi.

Pieskänjupukka nature trail (Pello, FIN)

Breath taking views to the archipelago of the Lake Miekojärvi on the top of Pieskänjupukka.

Aurinkovaarojen jotos
(Ylitornio, FIN)

Jotos traverses in the southern side of Aavasaksa. You have many trails to choose from. If you follow the complete route, you’ll have walked about 50 km.
