Our Lapland is also Your Lapland

“When you understand what Our Lapland is like, you won’t want to leave.”

Our calendar is the Torne River
When does the ice break? Is it already flooding? Is the salmon coming? Is the river already frozen?

          Our clock is the sun
During the polar night the sun is barely rises, so why not stay in and take it easy. In summer there is light, night and day. So much time and so many nice things to do! Still, let’s take it easy. Have a seat, we’ll have a coffee and a chat.

Take a moment to feel the rhythm of light and nature.

          Come along!

The river runs hundreds of kilometres from the Torne Lake in northern Sweden to the far end of the Bay of Bothnia. The area of Original Lapland is vast and the distances may be long, however, the road network and connections cover the area well and getting from place to place is no problem.

Dinner at the Reindeer Herder´s Cabin

Enjoy a three-course and five-star dinner by the open fire in an authentic reindeer cabin. You will also hear about reindeer year and reindeer husbandry.

Reindeer husbandry is a significant way of living in Muonio and reindeer cabins are still in use as part of the reindeer husbandry year. We get to visit an authentic reindeer cabin, hear about the year of the reindeer and reindeer husbandry past and present, and learn how to use local food and natural products to make our dinner. The starting point of the trip can be arranged so that it is easy to get there by your own car or, if necessary, we will arrange transportation from the surrounding area. Sometimes we drive a short distance on a snowmobile with a sleigh ride. Dinner is made with local ingredients and is enjoyed by the open fire.

Program suites all ages and does not demand strong physical activity. Warm clothes are not included, but usually needed for the experience. Included into the tour, three-course dinner (no alcohol serving); please let us know any diets or allergies.
